Aphrodite Seminar Group

Aphrodite Seminar Group’s ethos is to educate, inform, support and entertain.
The group’s annual plan runs from September to April each year, avoiding the demands of the summer heat and travel season.
Its programme is focused on current affairs that relate to Cyprus, its geographical and political interests and its modern history. It also seeks to inform the British community on residential, legal and taxation matters.
The first seminar was held in December 2025, with speakers from the British High Commission (BHC) in Nicosia and CIFSA presenting Consular responsibilities and the effects of the UK November 2025 budget. Information was also given about Attendance Allowance (AA) a universal non means tested benefit and new travel rules and an update on the crematorium.
Next Event: Tuesday 24 March, 10.00 am, at the Poseidonia Hotel Limassol
A Helicopter view of the Middle East, covering geopolitical and defence issues, presented by the British Deputy High Commissioner and the Defence Attache.
Further programme highlights for spring 2026
